Advanced seminars in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

The Neuro-embryology of Relationship

In this 5 day seminar, we will explore the functions and structures arising from the embryonic ectoderm. Through Biodynamic touch and awareness, the formative movement of these structures-functions can be experienced. The ectoderm is simultaneously surface (the membrane of our skin) and deep within our bodies. It is the perceptual bridge between our inner and outer world. Our focus will include brainstem, limbic system and cortical structures and their integration throughout the body. Our study will include exploration of these brain structures in the adult along with ground breaking research in neural plasticity. The constellations of nerve tissue within our craniums filter, organize, and create meaning from the two-way informational flow that streams between our interior state and the surrounding environment. Through perceptual explorations, lecture / discussion and session exchange we will touch and explore this dynamic system. Embodiment is ignited by the flow of ‘sensation as information’. The brain and its nervous system trailings are crucial to this informational flow. As we deepen our feeling-sense of Dynamic Stillness and Primary Respiration, these neurological functions and firings are strengthened, re-wired, and support clarity in relationship.

Our inquiry will emphasize:

  • A thorough study of neuro-embryology and development.
  • Embodiment explorations sensing these functions/structures within the adult through session exchanges.
  • Deepening a practitioner’s experience of the transformative state of Dynamic Stillness, Primary Respiration and Biodynamic touch.
  • Bridging an understanding of cortico-limbic information to interpersonal relationships and therapeutic practice.
